Funding

When you join our Group you will  pay a subscription (Subs) at the start of each month.

We purposely keep the subs low to enable as many children as possible to attend the Group

The amount due is shown on the Terms Programme. This money is used to pay our annual fees to the Scout Association which also includes scout insurance cover. The subs also includes help to cover the costs involved keeping the 1st Marldon Scout H.Q. running.

The subs do not cover expenses to fund group activities such as camps and external events. For these we charge a nominal “cost price” fee. We never make a profit and all money goes directly to the scouts and activities. For example weekend camps cost between £20.00 – £30.00 to cover food, activities and accommodation.

The Leaders volunteer their time to scouting and none are paid to undertake their duties.

Group Fundraising

Each section of our group will hold different types of Fundraising Events

Information on these events can be found on the notice boards and on your programme. These vary from bag packing at the local supermarket to sponsored evenings playing Dodgeball and the Skip-a-thon

Whilst we realise it is impossible for every member to attend every fundraising event, your Group expects that your scout will take an active part in the Fund Raising, after all it is for equipment that you will be using.

If you shop on line, we use Easy Fundraising, where by registering and buying through their site, we get a % donation of your purchase. From a night away at Travelodge to buying a new phone at Carphone Warehouse. The list of participating companies is endless.
